We're building the open source AI platform that empowers educators to save time, reduce burnout, and amplify their teaching impact.
EdAmplified was born from a simple observation: teachers are overwhelmed. They spend countless hours on administrative tasks, grading, lesson planning, and documentation - time that could be spent actually teaching and connecting with students.
At the same time, artificial intelligence was advancing rapidly, showing remarkable capabilities in understanding and generating text, analyzing data, and automating complex workflows. We saw an opportunity to harness this technology to address a critical problem in education.
But we also recognized a challenge: many educational technology solutions are proprietary black boxes. Teachers and institutions don't understand how they work, can't customize them, and have to trust vendors with sensitive student data. This lack of transparency is particularly problematic with AI, where understanding how decisions are made is crucial.
That's why we're building EdAmplified as an open source project - transparent, customizable, and built in collaboration with the educational community. Education deserves tools that are built with educators, not just for them.
That education is the foundation of thriving societies — it prepares the next generation of citizens, advances knowledge, and drives progress; our collective future depends on it
That educators are the catalysts of this foundation — they dedicate themselves to shaping minds, inspiring curiosity, and unlocking human potential; and they deserve our highest support
That technology should enhance the educator's craft — enabling richer learning experiences, deeper insights, and more meaningful connections with students
That artificial intelligence, wielded responsibly, holds extraordinary potential to transform education — when built alongside educators, rooted in their expertise, and designed to serve their mission
Those are the beliefs that drive us to build advanced, transparent, and open source AI systems that empower educators, elevate student outcomes, and amplify education's transformative power.
Educators and institutions can see exactly how the AI works, how decisions are made, and how student data is used. No black boxes, no hidden algorithms.
When the source code is open, anyone can audit it for bias, security vulnerabilities, or privacy concerns. This builds trust with educators, students, and families.
Schools and districts can adapt EdAmplified to their specific needs, integrate with their existing systems, and modify features to match their educational philosophy.
Open source enables collaboration. Educators, developers, and researchers worldwide can contribute improvements, share workflows, and advance the platform together.
Our Fair Use License ensures EdAmplified remains free for educators while commercial licensing for for-profit organizations provides sustainable funding for ongoing development.
Educational institutions maintain control over their data and can self-host the platform if they choose. They're never locked into a proprietary system.
We conduct extensive research with teachers, students, and administrators to understand their needs, pain points, and workflows. Every feature is grounded in real-world educational practice and backed by research.
Teachers are involved throughout the design and development process. We test prototypes with educators, gather feedback, and iterate based on their insights. The result is a tool that actually fits into teaching workflows.
EdAmplified is designed to augment teacher capabilities, not replace teacher judgment. The AI handles time-consuming tasks like grading and documentation, but teachers remain in control of all educational decisions.
Student data protection is built into every aspect of EdAmplified. We're FERPA compliant, SOC 2 Type II certified, and never use student data for training external AI models or advertising.
We're committed to ongoing improvement based on educator feedback, educational research, and advances in AI technology. The platform evolves with the needs of the educational community.
EdAmplified is currently in early development. We're building a comprehensive prototype and conducting research with educators to validate our approach. We're looking for passionate teachers, developers, and contributors who believe in our mission to join us in building the future of educational technology.
We're building EdAmplified in the open, and we'd love your involvement. Whether you're an educator who can provide feedback, a developer who wants to contribute code, or simply someone who believes in our mission - there's a place for you in our community.
